This economic empowerment project will also contribute tremendously to the operations of the following Government of Kenya institutions: |

The National Social Security Fund will receive annual member contributions from both the employers and employees of the 120,000 new businesses to be created. |

|
The National Hospital Insurance Fund will receive revenue from employee contributions from the 240,000 jobs to be created by the project. |

(c) |
|
The Kenya Revenue Authority will widen its tax revenue base with the addition of: |

• |
|
Payment of Income Tax by the 120,000 new businesses - whether it is a sole proprietorship, partnership or limited company |
|
|
|
• |
|
Deduction of Income Tax from a minimum of 240,000 new employees salaries and wages under the Pay As You Earn (P.A.Y.E.) Scheme |
|
|
|
• |
|
Collection of extra revenue from the Value Added Tax (VAT) that is charged on all supplies and services through the new businesses, which will act as agents - by collecting and accounting for the tax to the K.R.A. |
|
|
|
• |
|
Local Government Authorities will jointly earn an estimated Kshs. 300 million per year from the sale of single business permits issued to the 120,000 new businesses to be established. |

|

|
